DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Sr.No Designation Duties
1. Director
  • Head of the Department and Ex-Officio Joint Secretary to Government.
  • Maintain control on language Development Institutions
  • Drawing & Disbursing Officer
  • Maintaining control on administration of the Directorate.
  • All such duties prescribed for the post under law
2. Sr. Translator (Marathi)
  • Translation matter from Marathi to English and vice versa.
  • Matters/reports/updates on site pertaining to R.T.I. Act & Public Grievances.
  • LAQ's, RSQ's & LSQ's relating to Marathi language.
  • Implementation of the Official Language Act includes Advisory Board Committee matters & other correspondence pertaining to Central Dept.
  • To handle Scheme of Publication of Books, Production of Terminology, Scheme of Translation of Acts & Rules & Scheme of Promotion & Devp. Of O/L.
  • To train the staff of other Dept. to use Konkani Software in Devnagari script.
  • Any other work entrusted by the Superiors.
3. Sr. Translator (Konkani)
  • Translation matter from Konkani to English and vice versa.
  • LAQ's, RSQ's & LSQ's relating to Konkani language.
  • To handle work of hosting of website of DOL & matters relating to PRO.
  • To Co-ordinate the scheme of Rajya Bhasha Prashikshan Evzon & other schemes related to Konkani Language.
  • Matters /replies pertaining to Ad-hoc Committee.
  • To train the staff of other Dept. to use Konkani Software in Devnagari script.
  • Any other work entrusted by the Superiors.
4. Head Clerk
  • General Supervision of Administration.
  • To attend to all routine correspondence of administrative nature & ensure timely disposal of office work & to provide PIO with the required information pertaining to RTI Act.
  • Dak received in the office will be marked to her for distribution to various sections officials.
  • To control the attendance of the staff and see that the staff attends and leaves office at prescribed hours, to record/process all types of leave of the staff and maintain the leave register/file.
  • Maintenance of Personnel Files, ACR's & Service Bks. Of the staff.
  • To handle matters related to recruitments/appointments, promotions, confirmations & transfers of the staff, disciplinary proceedings, pension cases & matters pertaining to Cabinet.
  • Replies to L.A.Q./R.S.Qs/L.S.Qs of administrative nature.
  • Matters related to purchases for the office & to handle AMC's of the office equipment
  • In absence of Accountant to handle accounts matter of the Department.
  • To train the staff of other Department to use Konkani Software in Devanagari script.
  • Any other work entrusted by the Director.
5. Jr. Stenographer
  • Dictation & Typing (English & Devanagari)
  • Attending Telephone Calls of the Director & to prepare bills pertaining to HOD.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Reports of the Dept. to be sent to the Government & Confidential matters assigned by the Director.
  • To maintain Official Gazettes, office books with reg., newspaper cuttings & file movement reg.
  • Updates on internet, to send /receive mail & fax.
  • To train the staff of other Dept. to use Konkani Software in Devnagari script.
  • Any other work entrusted by the Director.
6. L.D.C.
  • To prepare all bills of the office, to handle cash and maintain Cash Book, P.A. bk., PBR., B.R. BCR, Dead Stock Reg., GFR-9,record cheques in relevant register.
  • To deal with the files pertaining to grants-in-aid to Goa Konkani Akademi, Gomantak Marathi Academy, Dalgado Konkani Akademi and other grantee institutions.
  • Assisting Accountant in filing TDS and dealing with all other Account matters .
  • To follow up account matter/bills with other departments.
  • Typing in English & Devnagari and any other work entrusted by the superiors.
7. L.D.C.
  • Prepare reports or replies to correspondence received from other departments of administrative nature.
  • Maintain files pertaining to computer equipments and accessories, furniture, telephones/mobiles, Internet/fax etc. and other official stationery including stamps and also handling purchases & to keep note in relevant register.
  • To assist Head Clerk in maintaining service books, personal file & other service matters of the staff .
  • To prepare replies to LAQ's /Parliamentary Questions.
  • Typing in English & Devnagari and any other work entrusted by the superiors.
8. Driver
  • Maintenance and control of the vehicle attached to the Department
  • Maintain logbook .
9. PEON
  • Proper placement of office furniture & equipments.
  • Open & close the office.
  • Attend the work given by all dealing hands.
  • To distribute the correspondance to all related departmentsduly acknowledge on peon books.
  • To submit bills to accounts Departments.
  • To handle Entry / Despatch work in absence of the clerk
  • Other works assigned for the post. .
